Homemade Steak and Ale Pie for Two in the Airfryer

Getting Laid in Troy

A tasty, homemade steak and ale pie for two that is easy to make in the air fryer. Tender beef chunks in a rich gravy with ale, with golden puff pastry on top.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb 225g beef steak, diced
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 carrot, diced
  • 1/2 celery stalk, diced
  • 1/2 cup ale or stout
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp thyme, dried
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions:

Get your air fryer ready by heating it up to 375F 190C

Put some oil in a skillet and heat it up

Add the onions, carrots, and celery and cook them until they start to get soft

Put the beef dices in the pan and cook them until they are browned all over

Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ale or stout, and thyme

Add pepper and salt to taste

Let it cook on low heat for 10 minutes or until it gets thick

The puff pastry sheet should be rolled out and cut into two rounds that are big enough to fit over each pie dish

Fill each pie dish with half of the steak and ale filling

Put a round of puff pastry on top of each dish and use a fork to seal the edges

For a golden finish, brush the pastry with an egg wash

Put the pies in the Airfryer and cook at 375F 190C for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the filling is bubbling and the crust is golden brown

Enjoy your hot steak and ale pies that you made yourself
